Ingredients

- 2 pounds boneless beef short ribs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a large oven-safe pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, then remove them from the pot.
- Add onion and garlic to the pot, cooking until softened.
- Pour in the red wine and scrape the bottom to deglaze.
- Add beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and thyme.
- Return the short ribs to the pot and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and transfer the pot to the oven.
- Bake for 2 to 2.5 hours until the meat is tender.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
