Description
A sweet treat made of apples coated in a hard candy shell.
Ingredients

- 4 medium apples
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- popsicle sticks
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples. Insert popsicle sticks into the stems.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.
- Once it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), remove from heat.
- Add food coloring and vanilla extract, then stir quickly.
- Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating evenly.
- Place apples on a greased baking sheet to cool and harden.
Notes
- Use firm apples for best results.
- Allow the candy to cool slightly before dipping.
- Store in a cool, dry place to prevent melting.
