Instructions

  4. Add the smoked ham hock and chicken broth to the pot.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and add collard greens.
  6. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the ham hock and use vegetable broth.
  • Collard greens are best when cooked slowly.
