Description
A comforting dish of tender chicken and fluffy dumplings cooked slowly in a rich broth.
Ingredients

- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of carrots, chopped
- 1 cup of celery, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups of frozen peas
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 cups of biscuit dough (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add broth, carrots, celery, onion, peas, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the pot.
- Drop biscuit dough by spoonfuls onto the top of the mixture.
- Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through.
Notes
- For a thicker stew, add a slurry of cornstarch and water.
- Feel free to substitute vegetables as desired.
- This dish freezes well for later meals.
