Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried black-eyed peas
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Rinse the black-eyed peas under cold water.
  2. Add peas, water, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and bay leaf to the instant pot.
  3. Seal the lid and set the instant pot to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.
  4. Once cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  5. Remove the bay leaf and stir the peas before serving.

  • Soaking peas is optional.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
