A simple and quick recipe for making black-eyed peas in an instant pot.

- 1 cup dried black-eyed peas
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Rinse the black-eyed peas under cold water.
- Add peas, water, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and bay leaf to the instant pot.
- Seal the lid and set the instant pot to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.
- Once cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
- Remove the bay leaf and stir the peas before serving.
Notes
- Soaking peas is optional.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Can be served as a side or added to salads.
