Ingredients

- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add flour, salt, pepper, and paprika; stir for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and sour cream, cooking until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in 3 cups of cheese until melted.
- Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish and top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or diced ham.
- Adjust cheese types for a different taste.
