Creamy and cheesy southern mac and cheese without eggs.
Ingredients

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions.
- Drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the milk, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Mix in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Transfer to a baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Notes
- This recipe can be made ahead and baked later.
- Feel free to add breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy texture.
- Substitute cheeses based on your preference.
