  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
  5. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Add cheddar and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted.
  8. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni and mix well.
  9. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
