Description
Celebrate your graduation with these delicious and fun cake pops designed to look like graduation caps! Perfect for any high school graduation party.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 can of chocolate frosting
- 1 cup of black candy melts
- 1 cup of yellow candy melts
- Lollipop sticks
- Mini chocolate candies (for decoration)
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to cake mix instructions and prepare a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake according to package instructions. Let it cool completely.
- Once the cake is cooled, crumble it into a large bowl. Add chocolate frosting a little at a time until the cake is moist but not overly sticky.
- Form the cake mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for about 30 minutes.
- Melt the black candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Dip the end of the lollipop sticks into the melted candy, then insert them into the cake balls. This will help secure the sticks.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted black candy, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess to drip off.
- To make the graduation cap, use a square piece of chocolate (or a chocolate-covered cookie) and place it on top of the dipped cake pop. Secure with a little melted candy.
- Melt the yellow candy melts and drizzle over the graduation caps to decorate. Use mini chocolate candies for the tassels.
- Sprinkle with edible glitter if desired, and let the cake pops set completely before serving.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using different cake flavors or colored candy melts.
- Make sure the cake pops are fully chilled before dipping to prevent them from falling off the sticks.
- Store cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
