  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Celebrate your graduation with these delicious and fun cake pops designed to look like graduation caps! Perfect for any high school graduation party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 can of chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup of black candy melts
  • 1 cup of yellow candy melts
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Mini chocolate candies (for decoration)
  • Edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to cake mix instructions and prepare a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake according to package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  4. Once the cake is cooled, crumble it into a large bowl. Add chocolate frosting a little at a time until the cake is moist but not overly sticky.
  5. Form the cake mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for about 30 minutes.
  6. Melt the black candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  7. Dip the end of the lollipop sticks into the melted candy, then insert them into the cake balls. This will help secure the sticks.
  8. Dip each cake pop into the melted black candy, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess to drip off.
  9. To make the graduation cap, use a square piece of chocolate (or a chocolate-covered cookie) and place it on top of the dipped cake pop. Secure with a little melted candy.
  10. Melt the yellow candy melts and drizzle over the graduation caps to decorate. Use mini chocolate candies for the tassels.
  11. Sprinkle with edible glitter if desired, and let the cake pops set completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, try using different cake flavors or colored candy melts.
  • Make sure the cake pops are fully chilled before dipping to prevent them from falling off the sticks.
  • Store cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
