berry trifle with angel food cake: 3 layers of perfect delight

This delightful berry trifle features layers of fluffy angel food cake, fresh berries, and creamy whipped topping, making it a perfect dessert for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the whipped cream, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
  3. In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes on the bottom.
  4. Add half of the mixed berries on top of the cake layer.
  5. Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, berries, and whipped cream.
  7. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any combination of berries according to your preference.
  • For added flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice to the whipped cream.
