- 1 loaf French bread
- 6 Eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1/4 cup Maple syrup
- for dusting Powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Add the cubed French bread to the mixture and gently fold until the bread is fully coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the soaked bread mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
