Description
A vibrant and refreshing dessert made with layers of fluffy cake and colorful jello, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of white cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 package (3 oz) flavored jello (any color)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1/2 cup sugar (for jello mix)
- Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, and 1 cup of water. Mix until smooth and pour into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake according to package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the jello: dissolve the jello powder in 1 cup of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water. Mix well and refrigerate until slightly thickened, about 30 minutes.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork.
- Pour the prepared jello over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or until the jello is set.
- Before serving, spread whipped topping over the top of the cake. Garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
- Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
- You can use any flavor of jello to match the theme of your event.
- For a more festive look, consider using multiple colors of jello.
- Make sure to cool the cake completely before adding the jello to prevent it from melting.
