Ingredients

  • 1 box of white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package (3 oz) flavored jello (any color)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for jello mix)
  • Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, and 1 cup of water. Mix until smooth and pour into the prepared cake pan.
  3. Bake according to package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. While the cake is baking, prepare the jello: dissolve the jello powder in 1 cup of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water. Mix well and refrigerate until slightly thickened, about 30 minutes.
  5. Once the cake is baked and cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork.
  6. Pour the prepared jello over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or until the jello is set.
  7. Before serving, spread whipped topping over the top of the cake. Garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of jello to match the theme of your event.
  • For a more festive look, consider using multiple colors of jello.
  • Make sure to cool the cake completely before adding the jello to prevent it from melting.
