Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of cake mix (any flavor)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1 cup fruit or chocolate sauce (for topping)
- Fresh fruit or chocolate shavings (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and water. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Bake according to package instructions or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Using the end of a wooden spoon or a fork, poke holes all over the surface of the cake.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with any flavoring you wish (e.g., vanilla extract or cocoa powder).
- Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk mixture over the poked cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, spread whipped topping over the cake and drizzle with fruit or chocolate sauce.
- Garnish with fresh fruit or chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the flavor of the poke cake by using different cake mixes and toppings.
- For a chocolate poke cake, use chocolate cake mix and chocolate sauce.
- For a fruity version, use yellow or white cake mix and top with fresh fruit and fruit sauce.
